Waymarks works with people with mild to moderate learning disabilities and/or autism to provide a range of therapeutic interventions targeted at the development of social competence. Through a combination of specialist teaching and social modelling we enhance people’s social functioning to build empathy and reduce any behavioural challenges.
First and foremost Waymarks respects the person as an individual. With a network of structured and supervised support, the organisation provides individualised services for people that encourage learning and enhance community integration and participation. The people we support are given real opportunities to participate in their local communities and are accompanied by a support person who acts as a role model for them.
We are an optimistic, progressive charity that believe in the potential for change and development.
